The only way I know how to do it is to copy the quote and paste it manually within the quoted post. If the quote came from another post, as in your example, you can use the multi-quote button (http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif) to get both quotes in your reply, then cut and paste the original post into the post that quoted it.

Weird. I get tons of e-mail and have never noticed this since updating. I wonder what causes it for some users and not others.

I love my iPad beyond belief, but buying another one (at least before the second gen comes out) is an epic waste of money.

I could see the close or even possibly an overwrite happening. At the same time, that is kinda what I want to be able to detect with one of the cases mentioned above.

    It's a compiled-from-source version of PHP 5.3.5.

I could be wrong, but I think the function is only intended to be used to determine if the server itself has closed the connection for a timeout.

I don't think it works for connections which you have explicitly closed yourself, as that connection effectively doesn't exist anymore.

CD-Wow are selling that for 20 quid. Almost bought it till I remembered how much better Roller Coaster Tycoon was, though I might pick it up for portable sim-ability.

All eyes on Sim City DS.

I feel your pain. I want the same thing.

The add-on keypads don't really do it for me no matter how nicely they integrate. It's not the same as a full size keyboard. Sure you get the numpad, but you still don't have proper cursor keys and 6-key pad above the cursors.

There's no special TP --> HDMI, because there's no need for one. You can plug in Mini DP into TP and it will work. In fact the port has separate channel for video, so your monitor doesn't compete for bandwidth with anything else.

This is gonna be a long shot, I know. I had some family thing come up at the last minute (kinda out of my control). I can get Leopard at my college's bookstore but, not the shirt. Is there any chance that anyone has an extra XL shirt?

My last thread was closed, I wasn't finished with my questions :(.

Everyone says there have not been any viruses written for OS X.

My friend has said,"Yes they do get viruses idiot!"

And gave me these links and said "theres your proof"

    http://www.neowin.net/news/hacked-intosh

These two novel forms of malware come in the form of an: OSX/Tored-A - an updated version of the Mac OS Tored worm - and a Trojan called OSX/Jahlav-C.

Malware, short for malicious software, (sometimes referred to as pestware[1]) is a software designed to secretly access a computer system without the owner's informed consent. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code.[2]

    There you are.

So... this is just a thread to see who all will not be on the forums on the day of the keynote to avoid any spoilers. I know its a small crowd, but it will certainly require a heavy amount of discipline to not check any news website or mac website or even the apple store. Sort of just checking who's all in? I've subscribed the MacRumors Spoiler Free Page (http://www.macrumors.com/2008/01/10/mwsf-2008-spoiler-free-keynote-stream/) w/ Keynote link (so i can be emailed the link when it comes out).

So.. Who else is checking out Tuesday to watch the Keynote stream (however late it may come online)?

Dynamic Range was one thing I was about to mention. I don't know a lot about 35MM only scanners, but I know that when I'm looking for a flatbed scanner, I won't buy anything with a DMax under 3.4. Even 3.4 is pushing it IMHO, and really 3.8 is where it's at.

That is an often overlooked specification. It basically tells you how wide of a range of contrast it can scan. The higher the better.

Okay. Maybe I am too daft to fully understand you.

Can't you right click on the ODD icon in Windows Explorer?
    http://www.ghacks.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/mount_iso-500x399.gif

Are both Option keys not working? Have your tried another external USB keyboard? Even a Windows keyboard will work.
And to be absolutely sure, and so I understand correctly, as this is new to me, you were able to eject any optical media inside the ODD by just pressing the OPTION key during the boot process into Windows (after you restarted the Mac and chose to boot Windows)?

If you have successfully installed the Windows drivers from the Mac OS X DVD, then you can use the Boot Camp Utility in the Task Bar to restart into Mac OS X.

What i meant is that I used to start with the option key and thereafter pressing the eject button.(When they show the different drivers)The option keys do work but they are locked.(Firmware password locked)Thats why I'm asking whether theres an alternative way to get the disk to eject apart from attempting to eject from Windows Explorer. If there is I might be able to prevent screwing up my mac incase I cant install the drivers.

I'm going go to early, around 10/11. Will let you all know how long the line is.

Awesome. camarobh from the "line spec" thread was going to check around 10 as well.

I actually wasn't videoing at the photo shoot, I was taking pictures. I did edit the video though.
Ugh! That cameraman was awful. Far too much twisting.

As for you editing: Yeh was v good. I thought there were to much fades for the beach shot. They worked on a few of the shots, but when both shots were panning/zooming they felt wrong. Other videos were good :)

After being down for nearly a day, it is STILL NOT available for download. I just don't like the fact that all iOS product being the slaves of iTunes. (Now it is available for windows and still not for mac, apple fix mac things first!).

I never thought of iTunes, as the most essential software for all the iOS devices. I realized it, when I deleted iTunes due to sync issues and could not find a installable copy from Apple.com or any where.

Next time, download first, before deleting for re-install.

That IS the lesson, download first. But this is also a first, I have never been not able to download something from Apple.
