You are not mandated to report on AC21 (job change) so my advice is not to report it till USCIS ask's you.
For address change. Yes you need to report that. But if you can retain your current address for just this one month and perhaps commute (fly) to your new job you can take a chance. Just my advice

I have already sent my 485 application
1-140 cleared
In the field I94# and expiration I entered I 94 number which is on the white card on the passport and it is the same as the number on my renewed h1 papers.However I entered expiry date from the i94 on the passport,which is oct06 instead of the 010 date in the renewal.
will that be a problem..? CAN I CORRECT IT AFTER I get the reciept no or will thay be able to verify with the latest h1 paper that i94 is valid

Has anyone heard about the immigrant advocacy groups that are planning a protest march on Washington one day after Obama's inaguration. They plan to demand that immigration raids stop and that immigration reform be taken up during the first 100 days of Obama's administration (while recognizing that the economy comes first)
The marches are apparently being organized by the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA). These news are very fresh and thus far I have only seen it on Spanish language media (3 different online newspapers). Here is the note in Spanish: http://www.chirla.org/node/246
Should we march ourselves for legal immigrants? Send flowers? The inaguration and following days will be very visible.

There are plenty.. but they cost money... and usually quite a bit. 3D designers think that they have some specialy skills or something. I've not yet found any free ones.. the one's I have seen run upwards of a couple thousand dollars.

I filed I-485 on October 1st. Alone with I-485 I filed Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance. Instructions for G-1145 says that I will be notified within 24 hours of documents accepting but I didn't get any notification yet. Is this something I should worry about? Documents been sent by Express mail and delivered to Chicago lockbox on October 1st.

I have a original copy whereas the lawyer has the approved I140.
Should I ask for the original or is that copy good enough?

Evidence of eligibility.
Based on an immigrant petition.
Attach a copy of the approval notice for an immigrant petition that makes a visa number immediately available to you, or submit a complete relative,special immigrant juvenile, or special immigrant military petition which, if approved, will make a visa number immediately available to you.
You do not need the original at all. It is property of the employer.

I don't think that would work. Here are a couple of articles that seem to suggest that you cannot create your company on H-1B (http://www.laborimmigration.com/2008/01/starting-own-company-on-h-1b-visa/) and also that you cannot volunteer to do a job which would otherwise by a paying job (http://www.laborimmigration.com/2008/02/unpaid-volunteer-work-on-h-1b-h-4-or-f-1-visas/)

I am 25 yrs old. I have a green card since 2004. i did a stupid mistake by commiting a theft from a mall of less than 90 bucks in 2005. i pleaded guilty and i was sentenced one year suspended with probation (Didn't serve time) and some hours community service. At first it was a felony since it included a tool to remove a sensor. but then it was reduced to a misdemeanor. I have been good with the law ever since. I went to school have AA and bachelor degree in international business, I have my own business, pay taxes, so on and so forth.
Now I would love to be American citizen but i am afraid when they pull up my record they will see i am deportable. It has been almost 6 years but I am afraid i will be rejected. My green card expires on 2014. Any response is greatly appreciated.
and also im thinking of just renewing my green card. ( would that be rejected too)?

Did you apply for an H4 along with H1? You should ask this question to one of the attorneys, this is pretty complicated.

Hi,
I got my EAD renewed recently and by mistake I have interchanged my First Name and Last Name in the application. I received an approved EAD card also with the First Name and Last Name interchanged.
I noticed the problem only when I went to renew my Drivers License.
My questions are
1) What is the process to get the names rectified on an approved EAD
2) If I leave it as it, will it create any issues.

This appears to be more relavant given the need for rejuvenating the state chapters. Why not we have this as simple links on the main page itself and make it damn easy to join the chapter. The most important thing to do is to have the members join the chapters and have the contact numbers. Once these are there the IV state chapters could follow up and get the activities rolling with these members.
Bottom line: Have the state chapter joining links on the main page and have it simplified for the members to join very easily ( kind of taking the name, contact number and email and nothing more) later the chapter core could get in touch with them and get the complete profile. A kind of marketing gimmick.

I am on H-1 and recently filed for my 485. After I receive an EAD in 6 or so months, am I eligible to go to school full-time while waiting for processing on my 485 application?
To continue your 485 processing, you should either join another company with a similar job or you should be able to join your existing employer once the I-485 is approved.

We, July 2 filers, just got our receipts. So you are not that bad. After 90 days wait, you are entitled to ask for an investigation, but, as it appears, USCIS is not yet fully finished with all the receipts for July-Aug filers. They said that they will be done with it by month end. You may want to wait until then.

The first I -797 notice that I got, states that they received my I-485 application on July 16, 2007. On the website for USCIS status update, it states that they received my application on September 8, 2007.
According to my understanding, one does not have to submit the $340 application fee for a work permit if they received the notice AFTER July 30, 2007. This is where it gets confusing.
Here's the problem...if they say on my paper notice that they received the application on July 16, 2007, then I would have to pay the $340.00 - correct?
But if the website states that they received it on September 8, 2007, then I would not have to pay the fee.
I need a job, plain and simple. I have been in this country for 6 years and have not had a single paycheck. I get room and board for taking care of an elderly disabled person and that's it. Any money I do get is from the kindness of friends and family or maybe babysitting for a friend etc.
I cannot afford the fee, but I don't want to take the time to fill out and submit the application if I have to pay.
How do I determine which notice to follow? Should I assume I have to pay the $340 and try to do so by borrowing the money from someone and if it wasn't necessary will they give it back? Or do I just go ahead and submit the application without the money and hope it gets approved? Does a work permit usually get approved or am I wasting my time?
If it is approved, do I get a social security number or what? I can't open a bank account nor change my driver's license without a social security number so I'm feeling really stuck.
Any suggestions?

They will take your I-94 at the airport in washington where you will board your flight....
In my experience my previous I-94 was issued to me on AP for one year when I had come in......they did not bother with the I-94 on my H1B.
Anyways since yours is an international flight the agent at the counter will take care of whichever they want.....just present them with both. Mostly they do not bother with the one in I-797 notice.
