They are the same in performance. For the same number of gigs, the porsche has a better price, a better design... This is of importance keeping in mind the fact that many users have the HD close to them... Chances are the classic LaCie will fall lore often because of his vertical design

    Go with the porsche...

    Michel

By the way: I have both of them and I regret the purchase of the 250 LaCie... Though the Porsche has been designed for LaCie

    Hi,

I am trying to run a java solution remotely on a server, I am using the below command in the terminal:

    java RemoteShellClient 87.120.209.147 50001 "cmd" "java -jar -Dusername=xxx -Dpassword=xxx -DcCodes=all C:\BetInTime.jar ServiceSF"

    Confidential info hidden with x's.

But am getting the below error:

    Invalid input data

Could this be a syntax error?

    Thanks

OK, on further inspection, the shellscript seems to rely on some batch files:

    CommandRunner.class
    RemoteShell.jar
    SockData.class
    CommandRunner.java
    RemoteShellClient.class
    SockData.java
    JavaBuild.bat
    RemoteShellClient.java
    java
    JavaClient.bat
    RemoteShellServer.class
    JavaServer.bat
    RemoteShellServer.java

    Contents of which are:

    set ClassPath=RemoteShell.jar
    java RemoteShellServer %1 %2

    set ClassPath=RemoteShell.jar
    java RemoteShellClient %1 %2 %3 %4

    javac -g:none *.java
    jar cvf RemoteShell.jar *.class

Do you think it would help to rewrite these as bash files?

I'm more curious about what else may be roaming around there (considering the department it's come from).

I remember in my second year working with Apple IIs, the local clone dealer loaned us a robotic arm with an Apple II interface and software.

You could program 3 vectors and the arm would 'navigate' to that position.

I've never been able to remember the name of the device and for a school it's usefulness was limited, but it was fun to play with.

IIRC, you could program positions for each joint in a sequence and kind of make it dance to a routine. :D

I wonder if it's floating around down there?

There are definitely some strong yet subtle speed boosts. Some of what I noticed:

-Radeon 6750m screen tearing is gone.
-Safari seems snappier. Not joking though. A lot faster.
-Trackpad responsiveness is drastically increased in Safari and elsewhere. Before, I had issues where if I clicked on the bookmark bar, it wouldn't register the click sometimes. Very annoying. But now it seems to be fixed.
-No ssd for me, but reboot times seem a bit faster.
-Temps seem a hair lower too.

I think it'd be safer just to not touch them. Especially if they're in the root directory

I am looking for 30 pin memory for either a LCII or a mac IICX thanks! could you PM me your zip code so I can figure out shipping? thanks

    Hey-

Zip code is 14052. Just ship whatever is cheapest, time is no object.

The 30-pin I have is from a Mac SE/30. Would that work?

what does that mean? if i play a record over my system, and then digitize it and play it over that system, why won't it sound the same? or is that not what you meant?

Reinstalling the OS even once is so unnecessary
Normally I would agree, but since this is a used system, I think he's better off wiping and reinstalling the OS.

Actually those bags wouldn't look half-bad if they didn't have the spymac logo plastered everywhere. Too bad, I'm just using a sleeve and backpack for my ibook...

Hideous design, rude forum-goers, and their overtly biased editorials give mac users a bad name. Why support Spymac?

Sorry to hear that my man, but recognizing a problem is half-way to curing it.

Are you sure your computer isn't saying "Could not load MySpace, Reason: It's for 13 year old losers."? ;)

    I'm sorry, I can't stand that site.

Some of us are much older losers, thank you vefy much. :D

That's a nice tip. Thanks! But does anyone know if MS ever plans on releasing WMP10?

I'm sure they'll release WMP10 for Mac about the time WMP12 is ready for Windows. ;)

Hi, if I want to update my jailbroken iPhone will I need to restore it before (or at any point during)?
I realise I'll lose my jailbreak, but I'm just wondering if it would require a restore.

(Sorry if it's been asked over and over again but I can't find anything that directly answers this question.)

To answer your question, I just upgraded from JB 4.3.1 to JB 4.3.2 without restoring. Just updated to stock 4.3.2 in iTunes, then ran redsn0w over it to jailbreak, then reinstalled all my JB packages.

Not sure if not going through a full restore will have any adverse affects, I certainly haven't noticed any yet though!
