The "far east country" (or at least one of them, more earlier) is Australia. The "convention" field listing country TT (Trinidad and Tobago) application 37090 confirms that the Ocean Telecom Services LLC is in all likelihood an Apple shell corporation.

wow, this is a NETWORK issue, not iPhone.
the time is pushed to your phone by your carrier if it's set automatically. if it's not, then of course it's not gonna do anything or it's going to be wrong.
i thought this was common knowledge?
if i fly down to the west coast (i'm in the east) and restart my phone, I WILL GET THE TIME FOR THE WEST COAST

This would be pretty cool idea. When you arrive at the Zoo, Museum, etc you connect to their wi-fi network. Then at each exhibit they have the RFID thing in place and you just put your phone up to the RFID reader and your phone loads a quick video on the Tiger, Lions, etc.
Just a thought.
Edit: I think the RFID devices have to be basically be touching to actually do anything, I don't think walking through turn style would pick it up. I guess this level of sensitivity is adjustable, but my AMEX card has to actually touch and remain on the reader for few seconds to actually read the card.

Nicely framed flower photo. Good use of DOF to add to the prominence of the subject while allowing the background to have it's own character. You have contrast in the brightness of subject and background which are, intriguingly, complementary colors...:)
I went out to make use of the first bit of sunshine I've seen for ages:

Same issue of lack of sun over here, too. I like the feel of this posed shot. I think it would be a bit stronger if the watch face were more visible. It's kind of hard to tell if the time is the same. Shooting this with something like a pocket watch on the sundial would be interesting, too. Similar shape but different "mechanisms".

Question for folks who have gone (or purchased ticket voucher). From the looks of it, you buy a voucher, which you then redeem online for a ticket, correct? Can you buy the voucher now, but fill in the attendee ticket details at a later time? I'm going to buy, but there's the off chance I won't be able to attend, so I'd like to give the ticket to someone else. The ticket holder needs photo ID to get in, so they obviously can't use my ticket. So I'd have to wait until I know for sure to claim the voucher, or put the other developer's information in.
Can that be done? Or do I need to claim the ticket at time of purchase? Based on the recent track record of WWDC selling out in a week, I'd like to make the purchase ASAP. Thanks.

being a network admin for a medium business that is 100% Macs, i am extremely concerned by Lion and its lack of server ability.
With the Xserve getting canned, it's likely that Apple will shift Lion server hard towards SOHO needs and further away from the needs of larger enterprise environments.

Ugh, god no! I don't want facebook integrated with my phone. Keep it seperate thankyouverymuch. I don't need it having access to my phone (yeah, you say it won't... but this is Facebook... do you really trust them that much? Facebook is very sleezy and does everything possible in loopholes to get your information like changing settings and not telling people that they need to change their settings to *keep* their privacy settings *the same*. I'd say they are far worse than Google which people freak out about).
While I'm totally addicted to Facebook I admit, I trust them as far as I can throw my car.

Man com on Apple! Really! I RUN MY LIFE BY MY IPHONE ALARM CLOCK! I NEVER planed on a back up BEFORE my iPhone when daylight savings time happened why should I NOW? Get this right or I'm leaving for the other phone that has never had this, oh wait, yes they did. Then I'm leaving for my old alarm clock which always changed on its own reliably - oh wait, never mind.
